Working with Rating Rulers

Rating rulers are used to specify the ratings for alternatives. For general information on rulers, see the section on working with rulers.

Creating a rating ruler

Rating rulers are created with default values for names. You can change these as described below.

You can also generate all weighting and rating rulers for a model at once, using the    button in the toolbar.

Renaming a rating ruler

Deleting a rating ruler

Editing rating ruler properties

Cutting, copying and pasting rating rulers

Rating rulers may be copied or cut by either:

Rating rulers can only be pasted into a criterion which does not already have a rating ruler. Rating rulers may be pasted by either:

When copying and pasting rating rulers from one model into another, you will be prompted to create alternatives for any ratings which refer to alternatives that do not exist in the destination model.

Rating rulers can be moved to a new tree location by selecting and dragging with the mouse. Holding Ctrl while dragging will create a new copy.

In Tetra GDM, when a rating ruler is pasted, it belongs to the current user.

Viewing the Rating Rulers of other Users

When the model owner has opened a model, the rating rulers of all users can be viewed (but not edited). A rating ruler for another user is indicated by the    icon, and the name of the ruler is the name specified by the user, prefixed with the user's name. As shown in the figure below, the rulers of other users can be opened, but they are greyed out, indicating that they cannot be edited.
